Success

If we, as Christians, should mark our successes by desired results, how disappointed we will be. For we so often fail to obtain what we are after in our pilgrimage. We think that if we can just get the responses we are after from others or if our circumstances would change as we would like, then we are achieving something worthy. But God's ways are not our ways. His purposes are perfectly executed in every part of our lives and what He is accomplishing in us is of far greater value than what we could accomplish for Him. His ultimate desire for us, in every circumstance, whether it be trial or victory, has the same end...conformity to Christ. So successes are not so much dependent upon what I am doing for Him, but rather on what He is doing in me. Thus, my life becomes a display of His glory, grace and worth, and I can truly say, "it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."
